Here is my experience and knowledge of having worked in the Physio dept for over 5 years.

put icepacks on the shoulder, take two painkillers, and then try pendulum moves, rotations, and get a towel across your back, diagonally and get hold of both ends on each hand and move it as if you were drying your back. Do these excersises slowly and start at 8 of each, gradually increasing the numbers. always the icepacks and painkillers before. at least twice a day. and place a heat pad at night for a while when you go to bed.

Hope you get better soon. Injections seldom work.

These are the same exercises I was given by the Physio + a pulley that was attached to the top of a a door. I didn't get the chance of an injection because the consultant said he would only try it as a last resort.

I went for my first session of acupuncture this afternoon and I have to say that I feel a lot better, my mobility hasn't improved but the level of pain has reduced considerably, I have been warned it might only last for a few days but I am hopeful that after more treatment I will get a good result.......
I also discovered the cause of the irritating tickly cough that I have had for the past couple of weeks, I have been put on medication for high blood pressure and one of the side effects is a cough!

Glad the acupuncture has reduced the pain FC - may it continue to do so. When will you be going again?

I have stopped the acupuncture as I don't think I was benefitting from it, and as she couldn't fit me in last week, I would have gone 2 weeks between treatments and that seems to defeat the object!

I am really annoyed :x as I have just found out that the GP I saw in May didn't send my referral to the MSK clinic as she said she would and now its going to be difficult to fit any treatment in between everything else!

I haven't had physio as I haven't been seen by anyone at the MSK clinic....Someone needs to tell the GP to stop scribbling notes on a bit of paper and put them straight onto the computer to be dealt with!

What a nuisance, FC, Here we find you have to pester the GP constantly to get any treatment needed going. My OH was weeks waiting to get a hospital referal.

Oh gosh - I really do hope that your GB system hasn't reversed to ours...ie: not what you know, but WHO you know.....
I must be honest and say that my mom was superbly treated by her GP - but then again, my brother (the Lawyer) was looking after things.....strings, strings...?

We were walking down the Embankment in London when my phone rang - it was the GP's surgery to say I Have to collect a form from them to have an X-Ray on my shoulder and that I have an appointment at the MSK clinic on August 18th....I hope I am fit enough after my op to be able to go!
